The heart of the SPIKE Prime system is the programmable Hub. This advanced, yet simple-to-use, brick-shaped device features 6 input/output ports, a bright 5x5 display, Bluetooth connectivity, a speaker, a 6-axis gyroscope and a rechargeable battery. The SPIKE Prime package also includes highly accurate motors and sensors, which, together with a wide variety of colorful LEGO building materials, allow students to design and build fun robots, dynamic devices and other interactive models. Multiple connection points on the Hub, motors and sensors as well as new, large building elements mean that students spend less time building and more time learning. The durable storage box and 2 sorting trays also mean that time spent on setup and clean-up is kept to a minimum, while the smaller trays are ideal when desk space is limited.

The intuitive coding environment for tablets and computers takes the best elements of the popular Scratch-based coding language, creating a system that teachers and students will love. In addition to the Getting Started materials, the app includes 3 curriculum-aligned STEAM content unit designs that focus on Engineering and Computer Science. Designed for students in grades 5 and up and optimized for 45-minute workshops, these units accelerate STEAM learning by continuously engaging students in critical thinking and solving complex problems, regardless of their learning level.
