HOW IT WORKS: The specially designed music mechanism is activated by closing a circuit, which is completed by the extension cord and the mechanism's electric keyboard. To create a circuit in this experiment, many different conductors are used. Among them are insulating tape, pencil lead, water, aluminum foil, potatoes and the human body. When the circuit is closed by bringing the conductors into contact, electricity passes through the circuit and the mechanism produces sound. Each pin on the keys has its own note, which is programmed into the built-in circuit.
